Default XM weather ?

I have had it for 2 years,i think i read where you can call and turn it off when you know you won't need it and then call again to turn it back on when you do without having to pay the 50.00 activation fee..is this really true?

i have always left it on but i believe the boat will be coming back to the house due to the grouper closing coming up(jan1st to may 1st) and the down economy, might as well save all i can....

Thanks.

yes, you need to ask for the 'end of season package' and you need to call xm weather, not the xm main number. also, i have found that the customer service, even at the weather number, is hit or miss, so if you call and get harrassed or get some puke with an attitude or something, just hang up on him and call back until you get one of the cooperative folks.

If I remember correctly you can only do it once every 12 mo. or you have to pay the fee again. You can also just buy it on a per mo basis or a 6 mo period
