Default QUESTION REF. LENCO TRIM TABS

QUICK QUESTION FOR THE PROS. MY PORTSIDE TRIM TAB STOPPED WORKING. THE OTHER ONE WORKS FINE. WHAT DO YOU FELLAS RECOMMEND? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

start with the easy stuff. check out the switch. mine got some moisture in it, and malfunctioned. easy replacement, and back in business

If it's the switchpad on the helm, it's a sealed unit and can't be fixed. No moving parts in there, either. I'm talking about the black pad with the Up/Down touch pads.

The best thing you do is install a set of Bennet tabs your problems will be gone and the Bennets will last the life of the boat.

Call Lenco Tech support and they will give you troubleshooting tips to isolate the problem either in the switch or the control box.

Depending on how accessable your actuators are, you can wire directly to a battery to determine if they works or not. I recently bought a used set in a box...and worked with Lenco's customer service and their website lencomarine.com to test each part. I found one actuator full of water (still sealed)...and one that was shorted out. Questioning and Testing sure saved me from pulling working tabs of working boat...atleast until I get all my working parts in order.
