Default Garmin 4008/4208 remember waypoints/tracks

G'day all,

I have a 4008 with g2 vision card, i am going to be installing in the next week or so and i was just wondering what would happend with it storring tracks, waypoints and settings then if i ever remove my batteries to replace them or something similar does the unit lose all settings and waypoints ect? or does it store them on the g2 card? as i notice in its specs it has no internal memory or internal battery?

Cheers
Bandit

You won't lose waypoints, tracks, or settings. If that were true, none of us would ever leave our boats with the power turned off. You'll be good.

Don't worry about it. User data is stored to non-volatile memory.

You can, however, easily backup your data to another SD card. It's a good idea to do this occasionally. If you ever have to perform a hard reset the procedure wipes out all user data and returns it to factory settings. Don't save the user data it to your G2 Vision data card though.

I keep back up sd cards on the boat, just in case.
