The FCV-292 is an excellent sounder. Which frequencies is the sounder configured for? Check by the model no; 292/36 is the 50/200khz version.

Pro's: Commercial Sounder, found on ALLOT of fish boats, good bottom, feed and fish detection. Good unit for going deep 200 Fathoms no problem. Nice big screen, easy to use controls. Can adjust all the settings, tvg, pre-gain, etc. Will operate on 12/24/32 volts. Simple to fix, most common problem is output Fets, caused from age or transducer shorting. It's the hemi sounder for sportfishing.

Cons; It is VERY BIG, need to have allot of real estate on the dash, or ceiling to mount. If you ceiling mount it make sure your mount is good, it weights about 35 lbs. Forget about flush mounting. Power consumption about 7 ah if running on 12 Volts. CRT brightness not the best for nighttime, doesn't dim enough - without adjustment. Little control knob on the back can be difficult to master. Power/brill knob will wear out, Won't always power on/off as you like. Make sure you get the connector for the transducer - about $ 45 to buy separately.

Other than that, consider this unit still sells for $ 2195 USD, transducer $ 995 Furuno. If you are getting a great deal grab it.

Hope this helps
