You can use a furuno gp37 and do a take off to the navnet for heading data instead of a seperate waas antenna. Dick

Are you talking about input from a separate DGPS receiver?
Dunno about the NN3, but my DGPS (and most others) uses std. NMEA 0183 output- I'm sure the NN3 can receive that data.

We don't get WAAS over here, only DGPS.

Thanks, I wasn't sure whether I had to have a separate DGPS reciever and/or antenna. I think the answer is I need a separate DGPS receiver.

Does anyone know different?

That could be a problem. My DGPS receiver is an old Raytheon unit; I don't think anyone manufactures a DGPS receiver anymore since the advent of WAAS. I'd check EBAY they pop up there occasionally.

Ah that would explain quite a bit.

Thanks.

It's unfortunate that the lower end manufacturers got all strung up with WAAS and dropped their DGPS beacon receivers as there is a whole new world out there not supported by WADGPS such as WAAS. In fact a footprint much larger than what WAAS does supports even though WAAS is not designed as a marine system and has yet to even meet the original design critera for what it was designed for.

Anyway these days you will have to look at some of the higher end and specific manufactuers such as Furuno with the GR-80 DGPS or GP-37 combined GPS/DGPS or the CSI SBA-1. There are other beacon manufactuers such as Leica, Trimble, MX-Marine etc but the cost then starts to rise for more professional grade equipment.

One day the manufacturers like Garmin, Lowrance, Magellan might again see the light of day?
