Default Ocean LED's on engine bracket

I am considering a set of Ocean LED's to mount on my engine bracket. I have a couple of good spots on my bracket I can drill thru to mount the lights. I was thinking of 2 lights pointing straight back and 2 pointing downward on either side of the bracket.

Does anyone see anything wrong with drilling thru the bracket to mount the lights? I really don't have anywhere on the transom glass to mount the lights without them being close to something (tabs, drain plug, etc.). The boat is a 26 Regulator so I am sure my armstrong bracket is aluminum. Ocean LED sells a delrin gasket to use when mounting to metal.

Any issues, thoughts?

Thought somebody else might hit this for ya. I see no problem with mounting the lights like that. The bracket is aluminum so you might have some dissimilar metal issues, especially if you leave the boat in the water. You should call Ocean LED to see what they advise as far as mounting into aluminum like that. The last thing you need is for your bracket paint to start flaking off.

Ocean LED sells a delrin sleeve that slides over the thru-hull mount unit and prevents metal to metal contact.

Looks like I am gonna go for it. I called Ocean and they confirmed the above, as long as the Delrin is used no problems. Armstrong offers lights premounted in their brackets so I shouldn't have any stress/weakening issues. The Ocean rep told me their new amphibian 12 light is coming out next month and it may be a better solution for me firing out the back of the transom. Supposed to use less power and is equal to their 20 series light. I may just wait a bit and get the amphibian along with 2 downward firing thru hull lights. The junction box they sell looks like a great option for me as well since only 1 power line will need to be run to the bracket.
