Default GPS

I was looking at a few Garmin GPS/finders and there seems to be a big price diff from a VGA screen to a QVGA screen. Is it worth the price diff, would I really see a big diff?
Just what is the diff between the two screens. ;?

Default Re: GPS

The screen is the most expensive component in a chartplotter. The Garmin 545 has the absolute best resolution, contrast and brightness on the market today, and it REALLY makes a difference in an open helm station. It may be that its smaller size makes the improvement more dramatic than the larger screens, at least to my eye, but its so much better than my 182C (which was fantastic compared to anything else available then) that I consider it a must have and a bargain! I also have a 4208, and while pixels and nits per sq. inch say they are about the same, there's just more wow to the 545. But then I wear trifocals.
