Default LOST GPS SIGNAL ON NEW GARMIN 5212

Ran the new boat with full Garmin electronics Saturday and everything worked wonderful. Twin Garmin 5212 is running off of one GPS antenna, I go to get in the boat Sunday and NO gps signal. I tried to reset the units and still nothing. Decided to run with the handheld to fish, after about one hour of running, the 5212's recieved the gps signal began to run properly. Ran all day without anymore problems, what went wrong? I am going to take the boat back to get checked by the dealer(installer). What could have happened or what could I have checked on the boat in order to get the units running? Just don't want this to happen on tournament days.

Check the in-line fuse holder that supplies 12volts to the antenna.

I had problems with all my in-line holders.

Default Garnin 5212

I had the exact same thing happen this weekend with my new Garmin 5212's 3 weeks ago.
I took my boat in and they updated the software then on Friday same thing signal kept coming in and out. Then on way home no problems.
It was crazy in thick fog!!!!

Which GPS receiver are you using, where/how is it mounted, and how is interfaced to the MFDs?

Did you check the GPS Status page on either/both MFDs at any time during this saga?

Make sure that the yellow power line to the NMEA backbone is connected securely to the NMEA backbone.

That is all W=water D=displacer is, plus 40 psi in the can, Years ago I met and had dinner with one of the original owners when I was moving a boat south on the intracoastal water way. There are a lot better electrical sprays out there.

Not quite.

W = Water
D = Displacement
40 = Number of tries it took to get the formula right.
