Default Another DSC thread Garmin 545 and Icom M304

I'm trying to hook up a 545 and a M304. The trouble is both manuals seem to refer to things differently. The Garmin has a NMEA 1 out (blue) and a NMEA ground (just the unit's black ground). The radio has NMEA In + (yellow) and NMEA In - (Green). How the heck do I hook these up? ;?

Thanks

See page 49 in the Garmin manual. Chose a com port for the radio, and connect positive in to positive out and vice versa, then connect all the Icom data grounds to the Garmin Instrument ground. Go to the Garmin communications setup page to make sure you have 4800 baud selected. With both units powered up you will see latitude and longitude displayed on the radio. DO NOT SEND A TEST MESSAGE unless you've got cokes for everyone on a Coast Guard Tender.

Which wire is the garmin +? Is it just NMEA out because black is a common ground?
