Default Garmin 168

I have a Garmin 168, Its like out of the stone ages, but is there any thing I can down load off a PC for inland lakes or off shore in Pensacola? Would it be in the form of a CD. Does any onyone have down loadable stuff for the 168 ;?

Thanks Bill

You can download a fairly good sized set of charts from Garmin's BlueChart CDs Call them with your serial number to make sure.

yes, that unit is mapsource capable. it has no card slot, you load the maps right on the internal memory. i believe it will hold 2mB or less of maps. this would probably be fine for a lake though.
one thing to look forward to is the unit slowing w a y d o w n when you load the maps on it.

seeing how you are going to have to buy the maps, buy the ac/pc cord (for the transfer) and have to put up with an old, slow, hard to read machine, i really think it makes sense to at least consider one of the new, color, fast, pre-loaded with maps, easy to read units. they have come way down in price.
