Default Lowrance Mapping

Did a search but could not find anything on Lowrance Freedom Maps.

I have a Lowrance LCX-26C HD combo unit. The machine came with the Lowrance NauticPath maps installed on the hard drive and I see no way to update that map.

Lowrance (LEI Extras) sells a Map Create 7 and the Freedom Topo Map cards. I live and fish in the Mid Atlantic area (Chesapeake Bay south to OBX).

My unit is a couple of years old now and I'm thinking about upgrading the maps. I've had Navionics with other machines but looking for something a little less hard on the pocket book. Does anyone have any experience with Lowrance Freedom Maps compared to the NauticPath and/or Map Create? If so, what do you think of it.

Thanks for the time.

See if you can find a used, but newer, NauticPath for sale on-line. They can be had for @ $50 - & you could prob. get close to that for yours. Or just sell yours for $50, & pony up the $99 for a new one.
