Default Regular versus Large Chip

I have a Garmin 3010C and have updated to the latest firmware for the device. I want a chip that covers Long Island Sound, to Cape Cod. Including Narragansett Bay. I have noticed they make REGULAR chips and LARGE chips. Is there a difference in detail? I want the largest coverage area with the most detail......thanks!

I believe the Regular and Large are that of Memory size not detail, like comparing 1GB to 2GB.
