Just installed one this spring on my boat. I love the ability to zoom in real close. Makes drifting over the same areas that much easier. Easy to use and operate. Was thinking of installing an Airmar b60 or the b164 transducer and then maybe the broadband sounder. Just need to get out more and put it to the test. Good luck.

I want to put one of these on my bay boat. Will this machine with the skimmer transducer read depth footage down to 2 ft. I had a couple of Furuno machines that would "Blank Out" below 8 ft. Also,Please tell me the difference between the hard drive model and non hard drive model. Thanks

I can manually adjust the sensitivity and see the bottom at less than 2 feet. The HD models
have NauticPath coastal data charts and lake charts for the entire USA.
Read about it here:

Thanks,I'm not interested in reading the bottom in shallow water,I just want the depth display to work as I boat in some pretty dangerous shallow water

Thanks for the link too.

If you can't read bottom how is the machine supposed to know how deep it is?
Put the machine in manual mode and adjust the gain until you can read bottom
