Default Suzuki Digital tach???

I've heard it does everything, from fuel and water temp to speep and tach.

Anyone have one? What did you pay for it? Is it as complicated as it looks/reads?

Thanks alot

It has displays for all those things but your engine doesn't output that much.

Rumor has it there is "an update" coming to the gauge which will allow it to read more data.

Off the top of my head, it will give you fuel burn, gallons left in your tank (assuming you fill / reset properly), rpm, hours on the motor, and idiot light alerts. That's about it... does NOT give you all the data that the ECU obviously has, like oil pressure, engine temp, etc. That's part of the rumor.

Now fuel manangement, it's good for...

In addition to what Flot indicated, it also gives trim position and alternator and battery voltage. With other inputs (from GPS or speed sensors and fuel tank sensors) it can also give you speed, instantaneous MPG, fuel level and water temp. Your choice of available data can also be overlayed onto a compatible FF/GPS/Chartplotter - mostly Lowrance.

Bubble - its a little complicated to set up, but not too bad.

I'm interested in the same. I have twin 2008 Suzuki 150's. I have not been able to find a single source (dealers or otherwise) that seems to know whether you can direct plug the Suzuki/Lowrance LMF 200/400 into the new NMEA 2000 engines. I also read here that there was an issue with plugging into the engine if you already had analog tach gauges and such. I have also read about some kind of updates that may be coming.

Thanks for any clarification you may be able to offer.

Matt you absolutely can attach any newer fuel injected Suzuki into an NMEA2000 bus. There is an interface called an EP-20 sold by Lowrance and Suzuki just for this purpose. One end connects to the engine and the other end connects to the NMEA200 bus. Lowrance has a lot of data about it on their site. One caveat is that Suzuki changed the wiring harness for I think 08 which made it and either/or situation (either analog OR digital gauges - LMF style). I understand that there is now an adapter cable so you can have both. I don't know a lot about it, but it has been talked about here within the last month or so.

The update isn't that big a deal (it fixes an issue with some newer engines and adds a little more functionality). It can be done after the fact, so don't let that hold up your decision.
