Default Raymarine C120 or cxxx...old tech?

Not really planning on buyig one, just wondering--I am seeing "deals" on combos for Raymarine Cxxx stuff. Are they coming out with something new?

Joe
I just purchased the C120 combo package from BOE which has some improvements over the earlier C120 with the ability to use platinum chips and such. The best thing is that the cost has come way down and I couldn't see a reason to switch to another brand. I am not doing any networking so I didn't need the E series.

All C's can use platinum chips. They just need to have the software updated. Of course, no C series will support all the platinum functions. I.E. No 3D images.

Is there any real benefit of upgrading from the Navionics Gold to the Platinum? I've got a C80 with the Navionics Gold NE Charts.
