Default Lowrance screen problem

I just took possession of a used X15 from about 2000. The original owner apparently never removed the clear plastic protective screen cover and now it appears to be very difficult to remove and makes the screen look hazy and sticky. Any ideas or products that might remove this without using a razor blade? Goo Gone won't even work.

try wetting it slightly by running it under the faucet with warm water, making sure you don't fill it right up to the top.it sounds like the cover is dried on the screen, tthen you can {very carefully}get under a corner with a single edge razor blade.

Thanks I will try the lighter fluid. The warm water trick didn't do it.

NO, NO!!!! No chemicals or petro stuff. Just use water. The other stuff will pretty much destroy your screen beyond repair.

Get a spray bottle and fill with water. Just keep spraying with water. Keep it wet for a good long time. If not sucessful call Lowrance or contact Navprotector at navprotector.com.

Lighter fluid... Christ!
