Default Garmin Charts working across the network?

I just had a customer ask us if he could add a 4010 Garmin to his 4212 and share charts. I was not 100% sure in my answer so I checked. A preloaded Garmin unit such as a 4212 will provide the preloaded chart data to a unit that does not have preloaded charts such as a 4012. So if you are buying 2 units you can save a few bucks by getting one preloaded and one not.

I also hooked up a couple units in our store to see if vision data and features are shared across the network if one unit has a vision card and one does not. The features and images and so on are shared.

Though somebody out in cyberspace would find this useful.

Jim,
How much larger is the cutout for the 4212 vs 3010c?
Thanks
Roman

The 4210 is a direct replacement, the 4212 will be about .5" all around. Thats a guestimate.
