Default Garmin 2010 to ICOM 504 to Furuno 1751 to Yamaha fuel

Attention NMEA pros,

Here is how my Instruments are interfaced.

>The G2010 talks to the ICOM 504 correctly !

> The F1715 obtains and then looses comm. (LAT/LON) . Both of these devices are connected to the G2010 port 2

> The Yamaha Fuel mgmt. gauge displays the proper MPG (about 2MPG) and after 20-30 seconds drops to 1.4-1.6MPG with no changes in the throttle. It is connected to G2010 port 1.

Any ideas why the 1715 looses comm ? and why the YFM is erratic?

Thanks in advance.

1. You can not have any of two outputs (Furuno 1715 and ICOM504 in your case) connected together.
Although one output may feed multiple inputs (typically <=3), each input must be connected to no more than 1 output.
You still have port 1 input available (solid Brown).

2. Make sure 2010 has both ports (1 and 2) set to NMEA-IN / NMEA-Out modes.

Good luck.

Thanks,

Boat is a few hours from home and I'll check this weekend.

I might even try to connect the YFM to the G2010 port 2. I didn't think it mattered.
