Default lowrance GPS Problem

I've been having a problem with my LMS-335C DF unit. it had been working fine but now I'm getting an alarm that say's AN LGC-2000 MODULE ON THE NMEA 2000 BUS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED and MODULE NOT RESPONDING. I went to lowrances website and followed thier troubleshooting but it's the same. I spent over 2hours on hold over 2 day's to only get an answering machine because they are to busy.
does anyone have any idea on how I can get my unit working and what the update is I need. thanks for any help

There have been alot of problems with the LGC-2000 modules. If it worked previously and now you have a problem, go ahead and call them and ask for a RA#.

As HH mentioned, do not waste any time call Lowrance and get RA#. They are aware of problem with two years and older antennas and replace it.

I have a similar problem right now. Module was not responding, so just a couple of days ago I got a RA# and bought a new one for $100. Should be here soon. Mine is 3 years old and out of warranty. Went through the whole trouble shooting thing and determined that the LGC-2000 was bad.

I am on my third LGC-2000 antena in two years. One brand new one they sent me was bad also. the updates are downloads from the lowrance software page I think. The last upgrade really made my tracking quicker when I did it. I bought a card reader and a SD card and download the updates to the Sd card when they come out. You should be able to find the instructions on the Lowrance site.

I JUST HAD A LGC 3000 GO BAD . they sent me a new one ,
on the 2000 make shure that the connection at the antenna cord where it meets the extension cord is dry inside , iwould get a module not responding and i would unplug it blow it out and plug it back in and it would work ,
i used a peice of heat shrink and issue solved good luck bets time to call lowarance is early mornings and monday is the worst day to call
