Default lowrance lms335c df problem

I'm having a problem with my gps and hope for some help. I have a lowrance LMS 335C DF gps unit. it has been working fine until yesterday went to use it. and a alarm popped up. LGC-2000 MODULE ON THE NMEA BUS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED. also MODULE NOT RESPONDING. I call lowrance and was on hold for a hour and didnt get thru, I just want to know whats the update and can I get the gps to work, again it was working fine. thank's for any help

this is what the technician will tell u after 2 hours on hold. check ur connections and voltages. do a soft reset. do a hard reset. still not working send us the unit and $$.

I was just on hold monday morning for < 20 minutes. But anyway, you can go to the lowrance website and download the update for the LGC-2000 (gps module) and install it. That should fix your problem. Did you recently update the software on your unit? The tech guy told me not to update the software on the head unit without first updating the software in the gps module. Not sure why.
