I have a similar problem with one of my tach gauges. I can see that it works but I can't read it.
No idea what is wrong with it.

Gator,

There is not much you can do if the Yamaha FM LCD panel is fading out. Replacing the gauge is the only option.

Those replacement gauges are not anywhere close to$1300. Email me at [email protected] if you are interested.

What is BS about a gauge dying? Most electrical and mechanical stuff can and will fail.

Gauges fail, motors wear out, space shuttles blow up and sh1t happens. I think that it is called life.

I had to replace one of my Yamaha LED tachs for similar reasons. When you get a new one, you will see the difference. When I replaced mine, I was told that these things go bad because they are exposed to sun. I started going out of my way to cover my dash when leaving the boat for long periods of time and the guages have stopped further deterioration.
