Default West Marine VHF 1oo Charger?

Does anyone know where I can get a charger for a West Marine VHF 100 Handheld? I called West Marine and they said it was discontinued. I woulod like to use the handheld as a back-up and to monitor weather alerts.

Do you have the old one so that you can read its stats of its label? We're looking for voltage output, Milli-amp hour rating and polarity. The radio was probably made by Uniden for West, but it could have been from a couple of companies. if we know the specs of the old charger, we can probably cross it to something identical, or at least close that won't fry the battery pack.

No, I don't have the old charger. I will have to contact West Marine again and ask for the specs. Thanks.

Contact Maha

Be sure to have all the data from the battery pack. They may want you to send the battery to them.

Most of the West Marine-branded handhelds are actually made by Uniden.

Start there.

Was actually in the West Marine in Dedham, Ma today picking up some spark plugs waiting in line at the register when I looked at the clearance end cap to kill some time. Lo and behold at least six (yes, 6) Rapid chargers with the auto cut off (peak detection) function for the West VHF 100 & 200. A whopping $17.55 (probably $50 originally), their sku is 003895489, although i think you can drop the leading 00's. if one store has em, more do, or they can pull it in from the dedham store.
