Default A little PROBLEM.........

My GPS looses Signal when my RADAR is on.

I'm thinking that I might have to get the GPS Antenna Taller than the RADAR Dome.

My Question is, can the RADAR Beam Interfere with the GPS Satellite Signal and cause it to be lost?

My GPS Antenna is Lower than the Radar Dome, but not by much.

I'm going to Place the GPS Antenna Above the Dome, and hopefully this will correct the problem.

Any thoughts out here?

Thanks for any Info anyone can lend.

your thinking is sound. ideally nothing should be mounted in the plane that the radar sweeps, especially people. Below or above the sweep should be fine.

Parker

Put my GPS antenna on a 2' extension so it was above radar beam and I have no problems at all. Check out the first 2 pictures on the photos page for the 2400 Hydra-Sport and you can see how the antenna is mounted.

SCR, I'm not directly in plane, but think close enough to effect it.

BM, that is what I'm gonna do, and see if this cures the problem.

RO, yes I noticed when I looked @ the PICS Saturday.

Very pretty boat you have there, and good luck with her.

And going to mount above the Dome and see if this does the trick.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Default A little PROBLEM.........

Lowered the GPS Antenna onto a Lower Mount.

Ran the boat with all the units on and it seems to have Cured the Ailment.

Even though the GPS Antenna was Shorter than the Radar Dome, not by much, it was to close to the Line of Sight of the Radar Beam.

$10.00 and all fixed!
