Default GPS QUESTION

I have a humminbird 787 c2. Today we went out for the first time the season and the gps did not pick up a signal the entire time we were out. When I went into the diagnostic the unit did say the gps was connected. I followed the line down and everything seemed fine.

Any ideas why the gps would not aquire signal for 3 hrs. Its like it wasnt connected but like i said, the unit saw the antenna.?

Not familiar with the unit. Just because the unit saw the antenna does not mean the antenna saw the satellites. Does the menu have a screen that shows if it is tracking satellites, or also if it is reading data sentences. Ina different unit, once had a similar oroblem, had to re-boot the antenna by disconnecting it. The antennae was still getting power even with the unit off. (can now do it with a switch) This however, is just a WAG (wild a$$ed guess) Check the menu for your machine it should have away to see what data it is reading. If not, check the troubleshoot guide to the unit. I am not aware of any GPS systemic problems, mine worked fine this AM, but I am in FL

there is a gps diagnositc page in the unit, there were no satellites in the display, so i was not tracking any as far as i could tell.... i think thats what youre asking.
