Default Radar shim

where do I find a shim for my radar? I don't want a tower, it is mounted on my arch but needs to be tipped down on the nose.

Default Re: Radar shim

I picked up a brochure at the Seattle Boat Show from a company out of Lynnwood, WA.

PYI Inc.
12532 Beverly Park Road
Lynnwood, WA 98087
1-800-523-7558

I'll try to set up a link:

http://pyiinc.com/index.php?section=...er-mounts&sn=2

scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the Base Wedges.

Hope this helps! Dave.

Default RE: Radar shim

I bought a wedge from PYI for my radar.

I have a furuno 3KW radome, and they said that they had the right wedge. I got it, and it was drilled for several different radomes...just not mine. They DID include a template so that I could drill my own holes in it though. I proceded to drill the holes, since I live 4 hours from my boat and wanted it to be ready to install when I got there.

Upon removal of my radome, I found that the holes in the template didn't match. I had to re-drill the holes on the spot, to make it work. I was very unhappy about it, and contacted them as soon as I got home and explained the problem.

Anyway, this reply is getting long. TO make it shorter, they were truly sorry and explained that Furuno had been less than helpful in helping them develope the right wedge and they had not supplied them with a template or sample radome or anything.

I don't remember the person's name that helped me, but not only did he vow to have this resolved ASAP, he sent me a check for the full retail of the wedge (I didn't even ask for this)...more than I paid for it and didn't want the wedge back. I was not happy to have had to modify the wedge 2 times, but their customer service is second to none. They fully admitted the error and worked very hard to make it right. I'd highly recommend them.
