amps used while battery is off

Default amps used while battery is off

i have a clarion cd/sat radio and it pulls max 15 amps how long while motor is off can i use the radio without it pulling the battery down....i do have dual batteries but was just wondering for safety sakes...stephen

Depends on the reserve capacity of your batteries and how they're wired.

watch your ammmeter - when it gets down to 12.2 - start the motor to charge it - without doing the math some will do for you here, I'd say it's a few hours at normal volume -

better yet? put a Blue seas ACR IN LINE on the power lead to the batt for the radio - when it senses 12.2 (or whatever you want) it'll turn off the radio.....
