Default Securing flush mount electronics

Does anyone out there have any ideas for securing flush mounted electronics? I 'm trying to decide whether to flush mount or bracket mount my new electronics (Garmin 2006 & Furuno FCV585). I'm ok with mounting the Furuno on top of the console, but there really isn't room up top for the Garmin. I thought about bracket mounting it on the face of the console (bracket parallel to the ground as opposed to perpendicular), but it sticks out sort of far. My best option would be to flush mount it, but I'm nervous about someone coming along w/ a Rotozip and leaving a gaping hole in the front of my console. Any ideas??

Thanks!

Default RE: Securing flush mount electronics

If a thief really wants it, the more secure it is the more damage they will do. With cordless tools available, thieves can assess an instal and bring whatever they need to remove items fairly quickly. A solid fold down dash cover would eliminate recon efforts but there again that's just one more thing they will destroy. ;?

I remove every piece of electronic and fishing equipment from my boat. I've been hit in my driveway while I was home. Never again!
