Default Running Furuno 1623 radar cable through ttop

i am installing a furuno 1623 radar on my 21cc...and having trouble running the wire through the ttop tubing...i have the holes drilled, and got the cable from the dome to the last hole, but the plug wont bend enough to make the angle of the tubing coming into the console. I am fishing it from the antenna to the display. how do you protect the wire in the holes you cant get to to get a grommet in there? should i try from the other way and feed the 6 pin connector up? that also seems too big....thans

Does the dome plug come off????? I have installed 3 Raymarine antennas and they all came with the plug separate and then you put it on after the wire is run....If you are careful it is removable as well.............I installed a 1621 Furuno about 7-8 years ago and I can't remember that far back???????

you can, if you are careful, depin and repin the dome end of the cable, but I usually just fold the wires back 2-3 inches and tape it 'inline' with the cable. I don't think I have ever tried pulling the cable down to a radr display from the dome- I always go up to the dome.

To protect the cable from the inside holes, try finding a piece of platic tubing (the water system type works well) split it and slide it over the cable, making sure it is long enough to make it past the worrisome bed, and slide it into the hole.
