Default Speaker mounting question.

I'm installing new 6'' speakers on my boat and the original cut -out is 3/8'' larger opening. Does anyone know of a filler/reducing ring? I only can catch 2 of the 4 mounting screws.

1/4 inch starboard faceplate will work....

but it depends - what boat, speaker and power (amp?) - and this will get me flamed - catching two GOOD screws with some 4200 or boatlife will probably do it if you have a small boat and don't spend most of your audio life blasting it.....

You must have gotten the same cheap sony speakers I got, 6" but they have 3/4" of plastic filler before the cone starts.

I've been wrestling with this myself, I think the way I'm going to go is to 5200 something up into the hull that the screws can bite into. Where mine are, waterproofness won't be a big issue so I may just use a small strip of 1/4 treated plywood - but a piece of fiberglass, starboard etc would be preferred. But that way the screws will have something to bite into, and they'll pull the plate tight against the hull when everything is installed. Plus you won't SEE anything on the outside.

Alright, I don't know who you are or what you're up to. Just give us Glen E back and I promise no harm will come to you! Don't push it fella, I'm backed by hundreds if not thousands.
