Default LCX-28C GPS Reboot?

I have spent a fortune putting in a new LCX-28c and the GPS is still set on the factory GPS setting in Tulsa, OK. I have read the instructions and the manual and there are three separate sections that say it should automatically find positioning. I fished in a tournament all day and it never found my position? Any suggestions? I called Lowrance to inquire about the best transducer for my particular situation and it took me 1 1/2 hours to get through to a person so I would rather not have to try and get through again. thanks.

Make sure you have 12v power to both the NEMA 2000 bus and the head unit and recheck all your connections. If all is connected correctly than maybe you have a bad cable to the gps ant.

Agree with Frank--you have to be sure that the NMEA bus is powered up. many people miss the two 12 volt connections.

Turn on the head unit. Press menu twice, select GPS, select initialize GPS, then move the cursor near your location to help track the Sats quicker. It should only take a minute to aquire the sats once it finds your location the fist time. Hope this helps.

Make sure the proper terminator is used on the 2000 NEMA system bus. If not the unit will stay in simulation.

Did you get a message: "GPS Not Responding". If so the power to the LGC 3000 isn't connected or the cable is bad. I made the mistake of not hooking up the GPS Antena when I got my 111. You can also go to the Status page and see if the GPS is trying to find Satelites. If it isn't, again, power to the Antena or a bad cable. Good luck. MM
