I know when I updated mine in January, I had a hell of a time. Downloaded numerous times and attempted a bunch - I should have kept notes. It finally took and works fine. I'm not helping the OP much.

Any chance I could get you to shoot me the SD card with that file on it?
I'll happily reimburse you the cost of a new card and pay for any shipping.
Edit: never mind - I see you're in Norway. No need to send that

Did it. Done it, multiple times... no luck

How about trying a smaller sd card. Like 16Gb or 8GB.

Have you tried a master reset?

Worth trying

The problem is not related to the SD card since Evo2 finds the file. The problem is that Upgrade is dimmed down and not functional by some reason.

I’ve done the soft reset (“menu” + “power” button) and factory reset (“X” + “auto/stby” + “power”) with no change other than erasing waypoints and having to internally reconnect gps, sonar, etc.
Is “master reset” something beyond a “factory reset”?

Follow-up:

The 32 GB card was the problem.
I tried every combination of format (NTSF, etc.), downloading new copies of the update from four different browsers on two different operating systems (IOS and Windows), all with the same result in the original post - a greyed-out non-operating "Upgrade" button. I tried those combinations with every possible combo of power cycle, soft reset, and factory reset, all with the same result.
I then tried a 16 GB card without formatting it, with the update downloaded using safari onto an IPAD. It auto-loaded and updated on the first boot of the NSS12 Evo2. It's now up and running w/ 18.3.
Thanks for the suggestion tturnernj, and thank you as well to the rest of you for trying to help!

Glad to hear you were successful. That was definitely a head scratcher.
