Default Maxi Fue Holder

I have been looking locally for a blue sea surface mount breaker but came across a maxi fuse holder the handles 30 - 80amp loads. I already ran the 4ga cable to my fuse panel. I can't find the breaker without ordering it online. Is the maxi fuse holder suitable for use in a battery compartment? It is not completely dry in there. My batteries and switch are in there now. There is one fuse holder for my auto bilge and it is in a waterproof holder. My cable has 1/4" lugs on there already. The blue sea breaker has 1/4" studs. The maxi fuse holder has #10 screws. Do you think this would work. I just hate to order the part when I can pick this other one up locally.

That's the one I'm looking for. I guess I will have to order it. Is the other a suitable alternative or not made for that application?

Blue Sea Systems also make this model which allows you to use it for an on/off switch in addition to providing over-current protection

Edit: I mis-read your post. I thought that you were asking for another alternative.

I prefer circuit breakers to fuses (they don't sell fuses offshore). Also, the breaker says that it is waterproof. The fuse holder is not

Do it the best way, you will never regret it

To answer your question, yes the maxi fuse holder is fine, just keep a spare fuse aboard.

Ordered the 7105 40a surface mount tonight from Northeast Marine Electronics for a fair price. I guess I will just have to wait.

Thanks
