Default new ACR PLB?

ACRGuy - can you provide some info on your new ResQFix PLB?

1 - are the specs better/same as/worse than current AquaFix 406?
2 - Does this replace the AquaFix 406 in your product line
3 - will this really ship in February, if so 1st, 2nd week, etc. when?

Thanks

Looks like a lower price-point PLB

Does not float like the AquaFix (come with a floating pouch)

Cannot connect to an external GPS like the AquaFix 2797.4

Looks like the self test (which is terrible on the AquaFix) is improved

See the 406MHz PLB link to compare:

Sorry I didn't get to this afternoon from the other post.

#1 The new ResQFix is 35% smaller, 25% lighter, smaller more efficient components on the board. More sensitive GPS receiver (-136 DBm). It is as small and light as we can get it and still have enough battery power to do the job.

#2 Both units are water proof to 5M. The AquaFix is inherently buoyant, the ResQFix is not. The ResQFix must be connected to it's pouch to float.

If you are concerned out losing your beacon overboard stay with the AquaFix. If you are going to attach your beacon to the PFD you ware and want smaller, lighter look at the ResQFix.

#3 We are in our final phase of Quality Assurance Review of our first production run. 2nd or 3rd week of Feb looks good.

Stay safe

Chris

Chirs - Thanks much for the info.

I did somewhat hijack the other thread and figured it just got lost in the discusion, but as usual ACR support is forthright, informative, and responsive. Thanks again.
