Hey guys I am currently running a raymarine axiom + with a cp470 and a airmar b265lh. I mostly deep drop in depths of 600ft to 1200ft. Should I run this in auto or manual mode. I am trying to mark fish close to the bottom as I am after Warsaw grouper and queen snapper mostly. I just purchased the unit so I would like to get the full capabilities of this unit.
thanks guys

You are running much deeper than me,but I can give you some tips.Take it out of manual.I fish up to 200ft so I can give you my settings..Take it out of auto range.Push the plus button on the sounder screen on the bottom.I would zoom up to 25-50ft off the bottom...maybee more.I have mine at 20ft showing off the bottom. You can play with the surface filter and see what you like, not a big issue.I run my intensity at plus 15,you can keep the surface filter and intensity in auto or auto plus 5-10? The gain is where your system will come alive.I run mine in manual 45-50..I would suggest you start there.Turn it up so you get a little clutter then back it down just a tick. In your sonar menu..Push the gears on the menu from there go to sonar display..Take the sounder out of manual power and adjust to 100%.Also on the same page adjust the ping speed to max.PM me if need be.Capt.Mike
