Default VHF RADIO

Is anyone using the standard horizon black box with a ram mic model p1000 I would like some info. thanks

i'll be installing mine in a few days.
it should free up some space on my console and eliminate the need to remove and reinstall the vhf every time i use the boat.
i'll report back as to how well it works for me.

i finished the installation and everything looks good. i need to test it near the water so i can try out the send and receive functions. the weather channels work fine and having the space on top of my console is great.
i used one of those shakespeare centerpin connectors for my coax which saved me from having to solder the old one .
