Default FURUNO RADAR 1832 PROBLEM

HI
MY FURUNO RADAR 1832 HAS A PROBLEM.
IT WORKS WELL FOR THE RANGES OVER THAN 3 NM(FROM 3 TO ITS MAX RANGE:36NM) BUT FOR THE RANGES BELOW 3NM(3 DOWNTO ITS MIN RANGE SCALE: 0.25 NM) IT DISPLAYS JUST NOISE. AND WHEN THIS HAPPENS AFTER REDUCING THE RANGE TO UNDER 3NM RANGES IT DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY FOR RANGES OVER 3NM ALSO, UNTIL I TURN OFF AND ON THE RADAR AGAIN.
DOES ANY ONE KNOW IT IS A PROBLEM OF THE SETTINGS ON THE MENUES OR IT IS A PROBLEM CAUSED WITH A HARDWARE INSIDE THE CASE OF RADAR? IN OTHER WORDS IS IT A SOFWARE OR HARDWARE PROBLEM?
AND HOW COULD I SOLVE IT?
THANKS

Seems like you need to do a initial set up again.

Why don't you call Furuno Customer support or call the dealer you purchased the unit from.

Mutlu,
I have the Furuno 1731 Mark III but I am sure the same pertains for your unit. In the manual go to adjustments and follow the initional adjustments to reset your unit, if unsure get help the adjustments can be a bit confusing. If you don't have a manual it can be downloaded on Furuno's web sight.

Call Furuno support (360) 834-9300. Everyone I've ever spoken to there knows their stuff cold. I'm not saying other makers don't know their stuff, but these Furuno guys impress the hell out of me (I'm in the computer field and often call Microsoft, Cisco, etc for support. Furuno's guys are more impressive in their knowledge and willingness to help. I first called them on a 16xx unit that was 15 years old and not working. The guy on the phone had me measuring voltages/resistances on each pin of the antenna wire until he found which wire was the problem. 2 hours on the phone for a 15 yr old product - and he knew it cold. This was a deciding factor in my purchase of a Navnet2)
