Default Lowrance iWAY or Garmin c3xx series

I am considering a GPS for my truck. I am doing a lot more traveling, and I think a gps may be a nice addition. There are a lot of options out there, but I do not want to go overboard. My main concern is accuracy, reliability, and value. Right now I can get a $100 rebate on the Lowrance iWAY350, but I have had good luck with Garmin products in the past. The Garmins of similar price seem to have a few less features, but I am fairly confident they are good units. The Lowrance has more options, but I am not sure on the quality. If anyone has any experience or suggestions, I would appreciate the help. Also are there any units where I could add a back-up camera? Thanks.

Spear, I received the Garmin for Christmas and love it. I don't think it could be made more user friendly. The touch screen is as simple as it gets. My wife learned how to use it in minutes with a quick explanation from me. I don't know about the lowrance unit but this gps is awesome. If only they made the marine units this simple to operate.

I put a Lowrance Iway 500 in my wifes truck and she loves it. I use my laptop with the usb gps and city navigator cd as I am on the road alot, actually in traffic right now. The Garmins are easy to use though and actually the most selling especially here since the storm because of contractors and insurance adjusters.

Thanks for all of your help. There are a lot of options out there, and a lot have different pros and cons. Lakensea, thanks for the link. There seems to be a ton of info on there. Signman, thats for the report. Swamppro, if you are in the marine electronics business and put an iWAY in your wife's car that speaks to its credibility. I also saw that Uniden is coming out with a unti that looks interesting. Decisions, decisions , but its fun to shop and learn. Thanks for the help.

I bought a Nuvi 350 and that thing is awesome. Great touchscreen. Very portable. Good mount. Supposedly it has a better antenna that the C3XX series. I also like the flat form factor compared to weird round shape of the C3xx and C5xx series.

I hear the TomTom has a nice interface but the software is not as good for North America compared to Garmin.

Go to gpsinformation.net for lots of pics and some reviews.

The one feature I do miss on the Garmin street pilot is the ability to scroll to your destination. This is helpful if you would like to get a picture of the surrounding streets to get an idea of where the destination is located. I am not sure if the other units offer this or not but after having used the Garmin for over a month I would probably pick a model that had this feature over the Street Pilot, but that is just a feature that I find useful.
