Default Simrad pro's need help

Hey guys, I am trying to help a friend so I read some Simrad threads but I am a Garmin guy..so I think I am more confused..so I am reaching out for some help.

My friend is going from a Simrad NSE8 and wondering if he can use the radar with a Simrad Go...or a Simrad NSS. Also not sure if the NSE had built in sounder or not? If not then I will know he has black box sounder

It's a Simrad 3G radar and a BSM 1 sounder

What kind of radar does he have?

Need more information, but the deal with the Go models is they can't network and have limited ability to communicate with other devices. The Go versions are a price point unit for people who only want one display and a transducer, maybe add an auto pilot. I think you can add radar if you unlock ($$$$) the feature. That being said, IDK if it can interface with an older array like that.

He's probably better off with an EVO3 and in fact, forklifting the entire electronics package.

The Radar is a 3G radar and the sounder is a BSM1

The 3G radar is compatible with all current Simrad units (except Cruise).

No reason to keep BSM-1. All current Simrad units (still except Cruise) have a similar or better fishfinder integrated. BSM-1 will force the system to legacy mode and degrade the performance of the internal sonar.

Go5 and Go7 XSE do not have a connection for radar. Go7 XSR, Go9, and Go12 are radar compatible.
