Default Which 3D HD chip of sea floor?

Area is South Long Island NY to NJ. Have Simrad Evo3S with Navionics Platinum+ chip. Considering adding a 3D chip. Is it worth it? Which one would you recommend?

Have you downloaded the Relief Shading function update to your registered Navionics P+ card yet ?
It's a lot of data so it may take a while, but is probably about as good or better than most of the spendy independent 3D card suppliers.

Thanks TT. My chip has the relief shading. I am not very impressed. Looks to me like the advertising is better than the actual, at least for my area.

I've been using the Strikeline charts in MA, and they give a ton of detail on the high resolution areas:

We guarantee that it's not. Our charts have more coverage and higher resolution data and if for any reason you're not pleased you can return it for a full refund!

Glad to hear you're enjoying it! We've got a Black Friday sale going on now, buy one get one free on our 3D charts and waypoints charts with coupon code BOGO. You can also get our 4K inshore charts for only $49 (normally $279) each with coupon code 4K. If you want another chart, maybe Block Island Sound or New York and New Jersey Offshore, now is the time to do it!

If you get two chips (i.e. Long Island Sound and Block Island/RI Sound) with adjacent bodies of water are the maps merged/consolidated onto a single chip or are you forced to use two SD slots?

We're always adding more areas. Have you seen our Puget Sound chart? https://strikelines.com/product/3d-puget-sound/

Due to the file size from the extremely high resolution data those charts are split. You would need to use one chart at a time. For most of our customers they only fish one of the two areas anyway. If you need both charts now is the time to get them with the buy one get one free sale with coupon code BOGO.

hi, looks like coupon code "4K" is not applicable to the 2 regions I am interested in:

region-1: 3D Chesapeake Bay Nearshore (Lowrance/SIMRAD - MicroSD)
region-2: 3D Chesapeake Bay Offshore (Lowrance/SIMRAD - MicroSD)

let me know if you have any valid coupon codes for those 2 regions

thanks

We do! Check out our 3D South Carolina and Georgia chart here: https://strikelines.com/product/3d-sc-ga/.

Remember, unlike other more expensive companies, guarantee all our charts. If you're not happy with the chart you can return it for a full refund.

Use coupon code BOGO to take advantage of our buy one get one free sale on 3D charts and waypoints charts. They make great Christmas presents!

I did look at the Puget Sound chart. Looks great. It looks like some of the multibeam data that I've seen but I'm just guessing it's multibeam. Is this all from your sonars or do you use NOAA data also? Anyway I fish mainly the West Coast of Washington out of Westport (Grays Harbor) so that area up and down the coast out to the canyon edges hold the biggest interest to me. I'm sure there would be a fair amount of interest to the North part of the WA coast also. And then....I'd have to figure how to get past Furuno being non compatible at this time. iPad or a different manufacture MFD of some sort. Great looking stuff you have.

You're correct, most of our data for 3D charts comes from multibeam. The rest, particularly in shallow areas with clear water, comes from LIDAR. We do use NOAA data along with data from tens of other sources, including our own boats. We've got some good multibeam in your area but it's been a relatively low priority/low demand area. If you have a few minutes, please shoot us an email to info@strikelines.com. We'd love to hear more about the fishing in your area, who we'd be marketing the chart to, and more.

Yes, most of our 3D charts can be run on an iPad or Android tablet. As long as it has a built in GPS, most do, you don't need a cell signal, wifi, or anything else. The device will overlay your position on our charts in real time.

Tight lines!
