Default Hummingbird Helix 5 comments?

Thinking about buying a Hummingbird Helix 5 combo unit. Any comments from users?

I like mine. It is a fine unit. It is the side imaging model. The screen is bright and clear though a little small. I usually run it for navigation and my main unit, an older 987c SI unit, for bottom when underway. When scanning an area for fish, structure or dive sites I may run the 987 in split screen with nav and standard sonar and the Helix 5 doing side scan duty.

I use a Helix 5 chirp for ice fishing, and on a personal pontoon. It is really bright and fast. I've dumped it in saltwater a few times, it is really waterproof to 3 feet. When it came off my pontoon into 8' of water, Humminbird replaced the head for free, as it was only a month old.

I can see a 1/32 ounce jig at 60 feet, and can mark 8" triggerfish in 130 FOW.

I've had the Helix 7, Onyx 8 and Onyx 10...Had pretty good luck with all of them. I had a combination of down/side scan and 360 imaging on them. Good customer service from Oldtowne as well

I liked it. Lots of features, but replaced it with a Helix 7 with GPS for lake maps.
Tiger51, I sent you a PM.
