I posted on this a while back, did a test with three antennas. Two 8 footers and a 3 foot steel antenna. The three footer out proformed the two 8 footers in receive and transmit. I run a 3 footer on a 1 foot antenna extention. So easy to put up and you won't have to worry about it braking again. If folks would read the instruction, its says on smaller boats under 12 foot the three does better. If the top of your boat sits more than 12 foot above the water you don't have a small boat. Thats getting yacht size. I'll never own another bridge slapper again. (8) footer. LOL
