Default Suzuki SMIS adapter 990C0-88136

Hi everyone,

I have a 2015 Suzuki DF115 A, recently I had to change the SMIS adapter for the NMEA 2000 rigged to my chartplotter, since then doesn't work. My guess the cable is not correct mounted or wired as i had a guy re done for me. Here some picture from engine side and SMIS side.

I checked in the forum but those colors doesn't match with mine...

The following is what I have for A series engines around 2016, it should get you at least close.

The reality is you only need 3 wires connected for it to work.

Black=ground/0V ------>Black

Black/green stripe=+12V-------> Red

Orange with stripe = not used

Yellow=data-------> white

Hope that helps.

So if I understand correctly the SMIS side is correct but the engine isn't, so should be like this in my case:
Adapter -----> diagnostic port
Red--->Black and blue
Blue--->Black
Yellow/green--->Yellow with dots

I have this situation and I can't find in your guides
SMIS-------Diagnostic port (engine)
White--->? Black
2 Black--->? Black with a blue stripe
1 blue and 1 red -->? Yellow with stripe
red -->? Yellow with dots

Are you sure you have got the correct plug on the engine?

There are 2 x 4 pin plugs from the ecu, one is for analogue data, the other (the SDS plug that usually lives in a small rubber holder near the fuse box) is the one you need to connect the adapter cable to.

Pretty sure it is as it was connected before.

the rubber cup at the top right
My concern is the blu/black cable, should I connect to the red cable to the SIMS end?
Or is it possible that the SDS adapter is inverted? The engine end is connected to the SMIS end? There is no label anymore

SOLVED: the SDS cable was inverted, so I changed the pins of both connectors so the SMIS red connect to the Engine Black and blue
