Yamaha simrad interface question
#1

Hey guys, I have a question and the search function didn’t get me what I needed. I bought a simrad yamaha nmea connection and connected it from my command link hub to my nmea connections. All Of the Yamaha information is showing up on the simrad but the problem I am having is that when the nmea connection is installed I am unable to secure power to the command link gauges via the key switch. As soon as I unplug the interface cable my gauges secure with the key switch. Has anyone had this happen before? I feel like it is something simple I am missing. Thanks in advance.

you've connected the Yamaha hub to a NMEA 2000 backbone,
using a cable which includes 4 individual wires:
blue, and white, which carry the data,
black, which is ground, and red, which is power.
Even when the key switch is off, the gauges still receive power
from the NMEA backbone,
through that red wire.
You only need the blue and the white wires;
you can cut the red wire in that "Simrad Yamaha" cable.
