Need to add a tilt switch

I have a 1998 Yamaha 60 hp. The only trim switch is on the throttle and I’m getting tired of climbing in the boat to trim the motor all the time. I have searched here and the internet for how to add a up and down switch to the stern of the boat. I can fing the switch itself but how to wire it eludes me. Is it as simple as wiring splicing it to the current wiring or do I need to connect it to the relay on the motor that the current tilt is wired to.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Yamaha supplemental trim and tilt switch?
Three wires. Red, green and blue. Just connect them to the same wire colors on the motor.
Red is battery power. Green for down trim. Blue for up trim.
Need a diagram?

There is no 1998 60 HP Yamaha. There was a P60, an E60 and a C60. Which one do you have? I am guessing a C60.
Not all Yams are the same. As I have discovered once again.
In the C60 model the wire colours used for the trim control are black, blue and green. A ground is applied as opposed to power being applied.

Yes it is a C60TLRW. Thanks for the info again. If I run into problems I’ll let you know.
P.S. The W is suppose to designate a 1998 Model. That is why I said it is a 1998.
