Default Navionics Relief Shading vs. CMOR mapping

The CMOR mapping appears to be unbelievable information. I plan to add this to one of my Simrad units. My interests are for bottom fishing. Now, I see that Navionics has a similar thing called relief shading. Has anyone else used or compared these two? Benefits from either one? Is the Navionics just as good?

Relief shading is a Garmin G# Vision product that was programed to use in Navionics Charts. What area do you boat in I can show you what it looks like.

That'd be great. Out of Charleston South Carolina. I assume this Navionics Shaded Relief is available for Simrad. ???

If you have a Simrad unit, you might as well just go with CMOR. Garmin purchased Navionics and have since integrated everything into their platform. Look up on Simrad's website to see if they can accept navionics mapping software...

Takes two CMOR charts to cover the same area if you fish from Charleston to Georgetown to Little River.
That's $1400 vs about $ tree fiddy.
CMOR has had better resolution but the others are caching up, the others are a lot cheaper per area. If CMOR does some scanning of their own up here it may change.

Last I checked, I could get another Simrad GO9 with the CMOR card for $1200. That's not as painful since the GO9's alone are close to $1000.
Just not sure if the Navionics is as detailed as the CMOR. Hell, it may be better. I am only assuming the Navionics version is available for the Simrad units.
I'll never run my boat to Georgetown offshore. I have a smaller boat.

Relief Shading can be displayed on Simrad plotters .... there is another thread that talks how to do it.
