Default Simrad EVO3 vs. EVO3s

Does anyone have any intel on the new EVO3s that is coming out?
I am taking delivery of a new to me boat in the next week or two and it needs a full electronics upgrade. Is it worth waiting for the 3s or should I jump on the discounted EVO3?

I came here to see if anyone had heard, as well. IMO, wait. The processor is way faster in the 3S. They had them side by side in Miami, so you could play with them simultaneously. I’ve got a boat coming down the line right now, and I really don’t want to settle for the old ones, but I won’t hold up the build.

I'd go Garmin 8600 series. Just put it on my Contender. 8616xsv and 8610xsv. You can't go wrong with Garmin IMO.

If you need a good reliable radar you will probably go wrong if choosing Garmin

Currently due to COVID-19 NAVICO (As well as others) is have a great deal of trouble getting out inventory.
Current Simrad units are in varying degrees of short supply..let alone any new units.

Im pretty sure they were the NSS units. I would have noticed, if they didn’t have knobs.

Do you expect the NSS Evo3S units to be available in the next month or two?

They could have been installed with OP50 at the side.

Thats certainly possible. Are you saying there won’t be a 3S in the NSS series, only the NSO series? At least any time soon.

I'm quite sure there were no NSS Evo3S at Miami boat show. There were a lot of rumors upfront, but nothing materialized.

So, for the guys that are in the know, if I need to get my MFD's in the next 2 months, am I going to have to choose between NSS Evo3 and NSO Evo3S? In other words, is there any decent chance that an NSS Evo3S will be available in that time? If the answer is no, is there any difference in the operation of the NSO vs the NSS? I'm trying to see the advantage of the NSO, over the NSS, but I cant seem to figure it out.

I may be crazy, but I’d swear it wasn’t there, yesterday.

It wasn't, today it went live on the web site. I would guess inventory will start showing up late July and very early August for all sizes. And yes it's blazing fast, happy 4th.

My builder told me first of August. We’ll see.

That's a massive price jump from the evo3 to the evo3s.

Huh? It’s a $500 increase and puts them in line with Garmin. The Evo3 we’re heavily discounted recently. Two years ago you couldn’t get an Evo3 12 for less than $3,500.
