Default Simrad evo3 Or Evo3 S for new build

I have a new boat in production and plan on using simrad electronics again. I have NssEvo2s and have been very happy with them the past few years.

My question is what are the benefits of the Evo 3 S over the older Evo3s

I like the ability to use touch screen or knobs on the Evo3s but I can easily add an OP50 remote for the Evo 3 S

Are the Evo3s going to be taken out of production?

The EVo3 units are now on discount as, yes, they are going out of production.
But, still a very reliable and easy to use unit.

What’s going to replace the Evo3

I just realized that the Evo 3 S is an NSO unit requiring a separate processor

Going through the same and spoke with a Simrad rep at MIBS and for 16" displays his suggestion was to stick with the NSS EVO3 instead of the NSO EVO3s. I use the knob and buttons on my EVO2s now more than I use the touchscreen. I'd like to disable the touchscreen on my upper station sometimes because in the bright sunlight the touchscreen doesn't always work well and beeps as if you're touching it sometimes. My issue with the OP50 is where to put it. And as mentioned NSS EV03s end up being a lot less $.

NSO Evo3S requires no separate processor. It’s built-in.

Yes and no, it comes in two variants. With integrated processor like NSO Evo3 and with black box processor like NSO Evo2.

Okay the simrad website was not very clear regarding that.

Will one grid remote work for two screens or does it require one for each?

Also what is the advantage of the Evo3 S over the Evo3?

One OP50 can control six MFD's.

NSO Evo3S has faster processors than Evo3.
