I'm not near my boat to take screenshots, but I recently did the free one-time update to a card I bought last year. It's good, but not great. The original card I bought had a few local areas of very high resolution with no coverage everywhere else. I was expecting the upgrade (currently what is on sale) to be super high resolution everywhere. It is not. It definitely shows some places that I'm going to hit as soon as I can, but I was disappointed by the quality compared to that original high resolution area.

Have you compared them to the CMOR maps?

I did not compare to CMOR because I only have Garmin and they won't allow other maps to work.

If you are in the upper keys you will definitely want to check out our new south Florida coverage. We are the only company collecting high resolution mutibeam data. This data is exclusive to all cmor customers and will not be licensed to garmin or others.

Same here I waited 11 1/2 months to do the free upgrade and my area of Fort Pierce still lacks the bottom detail I was looking for. Op there is a long thread about this on the electronics forum.

I suppose I can’t use for my Garmin Chartplotter?

Ever notice CMOR maps shows up for almost every Garmin maps question?

Its almost like they couldn't start their own thread about their maps, or even their own sub forum if they paid THT enough.

I’m not sure that I get this whole CMORmapping thing.

They have this high resolution multibeam shading and keep telling us that it won’t work with Garmin. I am so proud that your product doesn’t work with Garmin but how about you tell us what it does do? Perhaps CMOR has made attempts at trying to sell their company or the product to Garmin but their advances have been rebuffed.

CMOR sounds like a politician who only wants to bash and talk about what others are doing but won’t tell us what it does. I don’t believe CMOR makes chart plotters/GPS units so how about telling us the best way to incorporate your miraculous product into something we can use on our boats?

Am I supposed to take my iPad out on the boat to be able to use the product? It looks very cool and very detailed and appears to be way ahead of what Garmin is providing but how about focusing on the positive what you deliver and not that Garmin doesn’t interface.

It's called preening self promotion.

yeah they are trying to sell their maps no matter what I wont replace my Garmin equipment to get CMOR maps Garmin G3 vision is tempting but I wont buy them until I can see or someone pops in and show some details of their new garmin high resolution relief shading. I doubt Garmin is so dumb by investing so much money in buying Navionics and for the maps to be crap!

I have the newest g3 vision card for the tampa bay area and only 1/2 of the land areas along the shoreline show up with the satellite imagery. The rest is just blurred out. We'll be out at Eggmont Key which is near the Sunshine Skyway Bridge and 1/2 of the island is blurred out but the other 1/2 is clear. Makes no sense. I even tried my card on other peoples Garmins with the same results. Still love my Garmin 94SV. I just thought the images would be like google maps with total coverage that is suggested that the card covers.

Interesting comments. Guess I'll just stick with my regular G3's until they sort this out. I think that would frustrate me.

personally I find satellite overlay useless for my boating in my area but understand that others in other areas don't feel this way...and you paid for what they call 'high resolution sat imaging', so that's what you should get. you should post some screen shots. there is a chance that someone like Todd will be able to help you out with the issue and even if he can't then it will at least let others know what to expect from the product (and may put a little more pressure on garmin?).

What about the Standard Mapping charts. They are compatible with most Garmin units. Anyone using them?
