Default Bow mounted transducer on bass boat

Well, I got a good deal on a used Ulterra but, it's near impossible to install my down/side image transducer on the foot. I've looked at all the bow mounting options... separate transducer pole, mounting bracket that attaches to the tolling motor shaft, etc. Don't really care for any of those options. These all work but you've got wires going everywhere. This is an older aluminum bass boat and I don't mind doing a little fabrication on it. Had thoughts of mounting the transducer on the fwd keel where the puck would be out of the water when the boat was on plane. I understand the potential problems with the trailer, beaching the boat, and running in heavy chop. Has anybody tried this or have another idea? TIA from a new member.

Default Not possible on the MinnKota Ulterra

Well, anything is possible but the Ulterra is a different animal. The self-deploy mechanism travels the full length of the shaft. My TM mount side scan transducer will strap to the foot just fine. Problem is you can’t zip-tie the wire to the shaft like you can on most trolling motors. There are 3rd party kits to handle the transducer wire but they’re not for me. I either need to buy or manufacture a separate “pole” for the transducer (would prefer not to do) or take an approach that may not have been tried yet.

I just installed an Ulterra to my boat and order from Precision Sonar an attachment kit for the transducer for it. I'm going to look at different way of connecting the holder that goes high on the MK and figure a way to attaching it down on the MK side itself. Might take a few beers to figure it out. If anyone get a fresh water one it comes with transducer built in.

I also have the Precision Sonar mount for my Ulterra. Took a few adjustments to get stand offs positioned correctly but very happy with results. Transducer wire runs inside the Minn Kota coiled cord and are out of the way. The excess transducer wire is coiled neatly behind the echomap mount. The mounting standoffs seemed ugly at first, but I don't notice them at all now.

I have a 93SV Plus with a Garmin GT52HW-TM transducer Side and down imaging perform well for me with this set up.
