Default Florida Marine Tracks question

Guys,

I have the FMT chip up and running in my Lowrance Elite 9ti-2.

I get this pop up window when I boot up the system. “Old update transfer files”.

Which option should I choose?

Thank you in advance.

Firstly, choose NO.

I resolved this issue with assistance from Glenn @ FMT.

Apparently the Lowrance unit wrote an update file, while connected to the WIFI to my FMT chip. You do not want this to happen. Only FMT data belongs on the FMT chip.

I deleted the .upd file without consequence to the chip.

I removed the chip, updated the machine, then installed the chip.

Another tip is to deactivate your WIFI. First this is how the update wrote to my chip. I must have inadvertently allowed it to update the chip. Second, it causes the Lowrance to use more power.

Third, make a back up of your FMT chip!
